Correct the plan and what that changes
Corrections are saved immediately and mark the plan out of date, but the board never rebuilds by itself, and fitting the plan to a budget is a free preview until you accept it.
A plan you can read is not yet a plan you can change. Four things on the board can be changed after it exists, and each one does something different.
The four changes
| What you change | Saved straight away | Effect on the plan |
|---|---|---|
| A fact about you (market, industry, what you sell) | Yes | Marks the plan out of date and offers a rebuild |
| The goal, what you asked for | Yes | Marks the plan out of date and offers a rebuild |
| An answer to one of the three questions | Yes | Marks the plan out of date and offers a rebuild |
| How many influencers a step contacts | No | Shown on this page only, and not repriced |
| A budget to fit the plan to | Only when you accept | Preview first, then a real rewrite of the counts and figures |
Every edit is a deliberate act. Change this opens an editor, Escape closes it without writing, and only one editor is open at a time.
Correcting a fact, the goal or an answer
Change it and it is saved. The plan under the goal then carries an Out of date badge and a card that lists, in your own words, what you changed since it was built.
That card offers Build the plan again. It never fires on its own:
- Building is the paid call, and there is a daily cap.
- The plan on screen may already have campaigns started from it.
You can also press Keep this plan and carry on with what you have.
What a rebuild does
- It replaces the plan, including the steps you have not started.
- It keeps any step that already became a campaign, and the directions above it, and names them under “What the rebuild keeps”.
- The old plan stands until the new one is written, so a build that fails leaves you the plan you had rather than an empty board.
- If a generation was already running for the board, the board joins that one rather than buying a second.
- If the daily cap is spent, nothing is rebuilt, and the card says both things at once: no rebuild today, and what you changed is saved.
Changing how many influencers a step contacts
You can type a number, and the board shows it, but:
- It is not saved. The board still holds the plan above it.
- It is not repriced. The card says so rather than printing a cost nobody computed.
- If you start the step anyway, it is started from the plan as saved, and the board tells you the two numbers differ.
If you want the counts to actually move, use the budget fit below.
Fitting the plan to a budget
On the cost card, Fit this plan to a budget asks what you can spend a month.
The preview is free. No model call, nothing written. It shows:
- every step that comes down, and to what
- every step that falls out, with what it would have cost
- every step that was dropped at a smaller budget and fits again at this one
- the fitted total, badged with the weakest basis it is made of
- the reserve, taken out of the budget first, before the steps are fitted into what is left
Accepting it writes. Press Fit the plan to this and the server refits the same budget itself and stores each moved step’s count and its whole recomputed set of figures. Afterwards the counts on the cards are the ones you accepted.
Two things the fit will not do:
- It never touches a step that has already become a campaign, which is why the board’s total can end up larger than the budget you asked for. The board says so when it happens.
- It never trims the reserve to make the plan fit.
Dropped steps
A step the budget does not stretch to stays on the board, greyed, marked Out of plan. It cannot be started and it is left out of the totals. It keeps its figures, and it comes back on its own if the budget goes back up.

Frequently asked questions
Does correcting a fact rebuild my plan automatically?
No. The plan is marked out of date and the board offers to build it again. Building is the paid call and the plan on screen may already have campaigns started from it, so it is always your decision.
If I rebuild, do I lose the steps I already started?
No. A step that has already become a campaign is kept, and so is the direction above it, because an orphan cannot be drawn. The response names each kept step and the campaign it made.
I corrected something but the rebuild was refused. Is my correction lost?
No. The correction is written before anything else is decided. If the daily cap is spent the board says so and says the change is saved, and the next plan you build starts from it.
Does fitting the plan to a budget cost anything?
The preview costs nothing and writes nothing. Accepting it writes the new counts and figures to the board, and still charges nothing, because nothing is charged until you start a step.
Can I just type how many influencers a step should contact?
You can, and the board will show it, but it is not saved and it is not repriced. Set a budget on the cost card instead and the plan refits itself properly against it.
