Prove you own a social account

Keepface offers the ownership checks that can actually finish on your platform, you pick one, and a verified handle unlocks payouts and adds the verified tick to your profile.

Verifying an account proves the handle on your Keepface profile is really yours. It is what turns on your payouts and puts the verified tick next to that account.

You choose the method

Open Settings → Socials, find the account, and start the ownership check. Keepface asks “How would you like to prove this account is yours?” and lists only the methods that can actually finish on that platform. If there is exactly one, it starts straight away.

MethodWhat you doPlatforms
Leave a commentPost a short phrase, given to you in your own language, as a comment under a Keepface postInstagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook
Add a code to your bioPut a short kf- code in your bio, then press CheckInstagram, TikTok
Telegram botStart a chat with the Keepface botTelegram

X verifies itself. Connecting X through sign-in hands Keepface your handle as part of the flow, so the matching account is marked verified without you doing anything else. This is deliberate and X only: other sign-ins do not reveal a public handle, so they cannot prove one.

Snapchat has no check yet. You get an honest note rather than a button.

Comment proof, step by step

  1. Start the check and pick Leave a comment.
  2. Keepface gives you a phrase and a link to the post it must go under.
  3. Comment the phrase under that post, from the account you are verifying.
  4. Come back and press Check now.

Three things must line up: the comment’s author is the handle being verified, the text contains your phrase, and the comment was posted after you started the check. That last condition is what makes an ordinary phrase safe to use instead of a machine code: nobody can make your account post that phrase inside the window, and an older comment that happens to match will not count.

You have 30 minutes to leave the comment. You can delete it afterwards.

Bio code, step by step

  1. Start the check and pick Add a code to your bio.
  2. Copy the short code you are given and paste it anywhere in your bio on Instagram or TikTok.
  3. Press Check now.

You have 60 minutes. The window is that long on purpose: the copy of your bio Keepface reads first can lag your edit by more than a quarter of an hour, so a short window would fail people who did everything right.

If the first source cannot see your code, Keepface asks a second, fresher source before deciding, on both Instagram and TikTok. Matching ignores letter case, and the code can sit anywhere in the bio.

After it passes

  • The account shows the verified tick on your profile and in brand-facing views
  • Your payouts are unlocked
  • Keepface refreshes the account’s stats straight away
  • Verifying three handles earns you the Verified Everywhere badge

Contested handles

If someone else has an open claim on the same handle, no automatic check will promote either side, including the X sign-in path. The dispute process decides it instead. Reassigning a handle between two real people is never a side effect of pressing a button.

Not the same as the other badges

  • The blue check on your avatar comes from the social platform, not from Keepface.
  • Marketplace Verified means your profile is linked to a real signed-up Keepface user.
  • This check is handle ownership, one account at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to put a code in my bio?

Not any more. Comment proof is offered first where it works, and it leaves nothing on your own profile. The bio code is still there if you prefer it.

Why does my platform have no Verify button?

Because no check can finish there yet. Snapchat is the clearest case, and it is shown with an honest note instead of a button that cannot succeed.

I connected X and it verified itself. Is that a bug?

No. X tells Keepface your handle during the sign-in, which already proves you own it, so asking for a second proof of the same thing would be pointless.

My code is in my bio but the check keeps failing.

The bio Keepface reads can be a cached copy that trails your edit by minutes. Wait a little and press Check again. On Instagram and TikTok a second, fresher source is consulted when the first one cannot see your code.

Someone else claims my handle. What happens?

Nothing is auto-verified while a handle is contested. The dispute process takes over, because moving a handle between two real people should never be a side effect of a button.
