Revisions, how many, what counts
Standard contracts include 1-2 revision rounds before the brand has to accept or formally dispute. Beyond that, additional revisions are optional or paid.
What’s a revision
A specific, written change request from the brand on a submitted draft, e.g. “Please re-shoot the second clip in vertical instead of landscape.” Free-form feedback isn’t a revision unless it includes a concrete fix.
How many rounds
- Default: 1-2 revision rounds, written into Escrow/Managed campaigns
- Self mode: bilateral, however many you both agree on
- Beyond: the brand can request more revisions; you can decline (and submit final), accept (additional rounds), or counter (paid extras)
What counts as a revision
- Specific change to the content (re-shoot, re-edit, re-caption)
- Specific change to timing (re-publish at a different hour)
- Specific brief-compliance fix (added missing hashtag)
What doesn’t count
- “I just don’t love it”, not a revision, not a dispute either
- Subjective taste changes that contradict the original brief
- After-publish strategic pivots
After final revision
Submit. Brand has 7 days to approve or dispute. No more revisions allowed unless mutual.
