How performance rewards are measured and paid
A performance reward pays you a rate per measured event up to the campaign's cap, and it settles automatically once the measurement window closes after you post.
Some campaigns pay you for what the post does, not only for making it. On the campaign page that shows up as a Performance reward card.
What the card tells you
| Line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| The big number | The rate, what one unit is worth |
| You earn X per … | The unit: 1,000 views, a view, an engagement, a click or an action |
| Up to X cap | The maximum this campaign will pay you for this metric |
| Measured N days after posting | The measurement window, which starts when you publish |
Once the window has closed and the reward has been settled, the card also shows an Earned so far amount with a Confirmed badge.
The metrics
| Metric | You are paid for | Where the number comes from |
|---|---|---|
| CPM | every 1,000 views | your published post |
| CPV | each view | your published post |
| CPE | each engagement | your published post |
| CPC | each click | a Keepface tracked link in the deliverable |
| CPA | each completed action, a lead or a signup | a Keepface tracked link plus the brand’s conversion tracking |
For CPC and CPA the deliverable carries a tracked link that Keepface adds. Use the link you were given, because an untracked link records nothing and a reward with no measured events pays nothing.
How the payout is calculated
payout = rate x measured events, capped at the campaign cap
you receive 80 percent of that
A CPM rate of 4 with 180,000 views is 720, and if the cap is 500 you are paid 500. Out of that you receive 400 and Keepface keeps 100.
Timing
- You publish the deliverable. The measurement window starts.
- The window runs for the number of days shown on the card, between 1 and 90.
- When it closes, Keepface reads the real metric value and computes the payout.
- The money lands in your wallet in the campaign currency.
Unusually high lead or signup counts are held for a human check rather than paid straight to the cap. That is the anti-fraud step on the two easiest events to fake, and it only delays genuine numbers, it does not cancel them.
Things worth knowing
- The rate and cap on the card are what the brand set for this campaign. They are not negotiable per post once you have started.
- Deleting or hiding the post before the window closes leaves nothing to measure.
- A performance reward is measured per campaign deliverable, so two campaigns can run different windows at the same time on the same account.

Frequently asked questions
Is a performance reward instead of a fee?
Not necessarily. It is a separate block, so a campaign can pay a fixed fee and a performance reward together. Read the compensation cards on the campaign page, there may be more than one.
What is the cap?
The most the campaign will pay you for this metric, no matter how the post performs. It is shown on the Performance reward card as "Up to X cap". Earnings stop at the cap.
When do I get paid?
After the measurement window closes. The window length is on the card, for example "Measured 14 days after posting". Settlement runs automatically every half hour, so a closed window is paid without waiting for a monthly batch.
How much of the rate do I keep?
80 percent, the same split as a campaign fee. Keepface keeps 20 percent.
Why does the card show nothing earned yet?
Measured earnings only appear once the window has closed and Keepface has resolved the real number. Before that the card shows the rate and the cap, which are an offer, not a balance.
