Photos, files and voice messages

Attach up to 6 photos, videos or documents per message (10 MB an image, 30 MB a video, 20 MB a document), or hold the microphone button to send a voice message.

The message box has three buttons next to the text field: emoji, microphone and paperclip. This article covers the last two.

What you can attach

KindAcceptedSize limit per file
PhotosAny image format your browser can read10 MB
Videomp4, mov, webm30 MB
Documentspdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, csv, txt, zip20 MB

Up to 6 files go in one message, and you can write text in the same message. Keepface also enforces a 30 MB ceiling per file on its side, so a file that slips past the browser check is still refused by the server.

Attaching a file

  1. Click the paperclip
  2. Pick one or several files
  3. Each one appears as a chip above the message box, images as a thumbnail, everything else as a name plus size
  4. Remove any chip with the small x in its corner
  5. Add a note if you want, then send

Pasting works too. Copy an image or a file, click into the message box and paste. This is the fastest way to send a screenshot of a brief question or a metric.

Viewing what someone sent you

  • Photos and videos open in place, in a lightbox over the conversation, with a download action
  • Documents open in a new tab from the file row, which also shows the type and size
  • Videos download first and then play, so scrubbing does not stall halfway

Voice messages

  1. Press the microphone button
  2. Allow microphone access the first time your browser asks
  3. The composer turns into a recorder with a running timer
  4. Press Send to send it, or Cancel to throw it away

A sent voice message appears as a player: a play button, a waveform and the length. Tap anywhere on the waveform to jump to that point. Only one voice message plays at a time.

If you decline the microphone permission, the chat tells you access is needed and nothing is recorded. You can grant it later in your browser’s site settings for keepface.com.

Attachments are not deliverables

Sending a draft in chat is fine for a quick opinion, but it does not start the approval clock and it does not pay you. The deliverable has to go through the campaign flow. See Submit deliverables and Add a draft for brand approval.

Frequently asked questions

How many files can I send at once?

Six per message. Add them one by one or select several at once, then remove any of them from the strip above the composer before you send.

What happens if a file is too large?

The file is rejected before upload and you get a message naming the limit it broke. Nothing is sent until you remove or replace it.

Can I paste a screenshot straight into the chat?

Yes. Copy the screenshot, click in the message box and paste. It lands in the attachment strip like any picked file.

Does an attachment here count as my campaign deliverable?

No. A deliverable has to be submitted through the campaign's deliverable flow, not by dropping a file in chat.

Why does the chat ask for microphone access?

Only to record a voice message. Your browser asks the first time you press the microphone button, and nothing is recorded until you press it.
