How messages work
Messages is one inbox holding your brand campaign threads and your Circle direct messages, it refreshes itself every few seconds, and it shows you when the other side has seen what you sent.
Messages is in your influencer sidebar, at keepface.com/influencer/messages. It is one inbox for two different kinds of conversation.
The two kinds of conversation
| Conversation | Who starts it | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Brand thread | The brand, from a campaign or a list | The campaign brief, questions, negotiation, delivery |
| Circle direct message | Another Keepface Circle member | Member to member chat, one on one |
Both live in the same thread list on the left, and both open in the same conversation panel. The search box at the top of the list filters by name.
Threads follow your active profile
Conversations belong to the profile that is active in your topbar, not to your login. If you manage more than one profile and an expected thread is missing, switch profiles first. See Switch between profiles.
Answering an invitation from the thread
When a brand invites you to a campaign, the thread carries a yellow Campaign invitation banner with Accept and Decline. You can read the brief and ask questions in the same thread before you decide. The banner is replaced by a short confirmation once you answer. See Accept or decline.
A brand’s own inbox only shows a campaign thread after you accept it, or after you have posted at least one message in it. So a question you ask before deciding does reach them, but an invitation you never opened does not clutter their list.
Message requests from Circle members
The first message from a Circle member you do not already talk to arrives as a Message request banner. Accept it, or simply reply, and the conversation opens both ways. Decline hides it.
What the panel tells you

Opening a thread marks it read.
Delivery ticks
| Tick | Meaning |

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to refresh the page to see new messages?
No. The conversation and the thread list update themselves every few seconds while the page is open, and the sidebar unread badge updates with them.
Can a brand see a thread before I answer?
A brand's inbox shows a campaign thread once you accept the invitation or once you post any message in it. An invitation you never touched stays out of their inbox.
Why is my inbox empty after I switch profiles?
Threads belong to the profile that is active in the topbar. Switch back to the profile the conversation belongs to and it reappears.
Can I message a brand that has not contacted me?
No. Brand threads are opened from the brand side, from a campaign or a list. Your side of the conversation starts when their first message arrives.
How long can one message be?
5,000 characters. Longer text has to be split, or sent as an attached document.
