Team-level segmentation, Eng, Sales, Marketing

Team-level segmentation lets you compare like-with-like (Sales vs Sales, not Sales vs Engineering) and run team-specific share challenges.

Why split

A 500-person company has one Marketing team and many Engineering teams. If everyone competes in one leaderboard, Marketing dominates (it’s literally their job to post). Splitting by team makes the game fair and the reporting useful.

Map departments to teams

If you use HRIS sync, departments come in as-is. Otherwise:

  1. Employees → Settings → Teams
  2. Create teams (e.g. Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success)
  3. Assign employees individually or by bulk-CSV
  4. Save

Per-team leaderboards

Each team gets its own leaderboard with separate cadence and prize policy. Run a Marketing weekly leaderboard while Sales does a monthly one. Engineering can opt out entirely if leadership decides EA isn’t compulsory there.

Per-team analytics

Reports breakout share count, reach, and engagement by team. Useful for telling Engineering leadership how their team’s voice is performing without exposing individual rankings.
